Holidays

It's really lovely at the moment because my lovely husband has got a week left before he has to go back to work! I'd love to say that we are having a wonderful time but I've been struck down with a flu like thing (though I have to add that it's not the flu as I have had the real thing only once & it's awful). The fact is it has been a lovely time with the children being really excited & we still managed to visit the relatives on Boxing Day before I got struck down!

I don't have much energy to type much so I thought I'd just post a few Christmas pictures...

Christmas morning....still dressed in jim jams, of course!

Oh, Christmas Tree....

Down from the loft came the tree, followed by the boxes of baubles...tinsel...fairy lights...the husband (not that I keep him up there all year..if only!) Out came the mess, spread all over the house. Up went the stress levels as the kids started changing the tree decorations around! How wonderful! I love Christmas....wahoooo!!

Here's a little piccie of our Christmas Tree....

By the way, Matt is 6'4" & he chose the fairy for the tree. It is to his own personal scale...therefore it is far too big for our tree! I try not to say too much! Other than that we had a boring weekend. I havn't done much crafting or knitting for a few days. Things are slow in that department at the moment.

Sadly, Matt's nan passed away 10 days ago & we had the funeral yesterday so things have been a little sad. So Stella, this is for you...

Thankyou for being such a wonderful Nan to us & 'Nanny Knit' to our children. I never knew either of my nans as they died before I was born. You were the closest to one I have ever had and we will miss you very much. We are sorry we didn't get to see you as often as we would have liked. You would always understand just how busy life has been for us. We are just glad for you that you have been released from all the suffering you had endured for so long. Matt thinks the world of you & so do we. Good bye Nan x

Floppy Bear

Meet Floppy Bear. He is the reason I haven't blogged for a while. He has kept me very busy and is finally finished. It took me longer to sew him up than to knit him but I finally finished him last night for my little boy, George. I would love to do another one for my little girl but she'll have to wait. I'm next!

Floppy was lucky enough to accompany George to school today for his 'show & tell' session. Lucky Bear!

It's been very cold. We have been trying to visit the zoo for about a month but every weekend it has rained or been too cold. We are going to wait until after Christmas.

Ah, yes. Christmas! I'm starting to get very excited now. Soon it will be the Nativity play at George's school, followed by hubby's work's Christmas Do. Of course, before that we will be putting the Christmas Tree & decorations up & going into town to see the Christmas Parade...how exciting! I love it! Matt has said he will get me a year's subscription to Knitting Magazine for Christmas so I'll be a happy pup.

I've got a crazy little monster to show you. It's actually frightened me that I could be capable of designing such a weird thing! I listed it on Folksy, then swiftly de-listed it when I saw it next to everyone else's beautiful creations. I think he has a face only a mother could love. Never the less I will swallow my pride & share it with you. Just promise not to laugh...or have nightmares!

My next knitting project is a very chunky scarf for me (knit on 20mm) in a lovely hot pink, followed closely by a jumper or tank top. So I'd better get on with it. Bye for now x
