I love June! It's my favourite month, though I am known to get over-excited about other times of year!

June is special, though, because I age another year. It was my Birthday on the 8th & I was looking forward to doing a special birthday blog post but, unfortunately, my internet has been down for the past 2 weeks...Boo Hoo!
Anyway, I am here now. All 34 years of me. I don't mind creeping in to my mid thirties. I feel quite settled & quietly confident. I didn't take to 30 as well as I could have. I was in the earlier stages of motherhood & feeling like my carefree, younger days were far behind. I have adjusted to all of that now though & I have found that crafting has helped me to find myself again (even though it's a far cry from my clubbing days!)
I had some lovely presents, but my favourite has to be this gorgeous necklace & brooch by Sea Urchin http://folksy.com/shops/seaurchin.
They really are beautifully hand sculpted. I really would recommend a visit to Sea Urchin's Folksy shop!
I also treated myself to the 1930's teacup, saucer & plate at the beginning of this post. I just couldn't resist!
Hubby was very sweet. He suprised me by sneakily taking the day off work. We went out for lunch & when George came home from school, we sat in the garden & had some cake.
To celebrate my increasing wrinkles & tired face, I thought I'd have a little giveaway. What with it being June & everything, what could be more appropriate than a pack of 4 of my strawberry fabric buttons ......

I'll also add a little mix of vintage & modern buttons from my stash.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to leave a comment below telling me what you love about June (if anything!). You can have a double chance of winning if you mention my giveaway on your own blog. Just let me know that you've done it.
Because I'm not great with internet tools, I will draw a random name from a hat on Monday, 22nd June. Closing date will be midnight on Sunday 21st June.Have a lovely Thursday & I'll just end with some summer garden photos....

YAY! This is exciting - although I never win things! LOL! But for me June is about apple blossom, gooseberries, picking elderflowers for cordial (mmm food & drink then!) but also because it's Father's day & a chance to thank them for all they do!
Glad you had a great birthday - sounds lovely & fab presents too - lucky lady xxx
Great pictures too!
Strawberries, first veggies, more sunshine, what's not to love about June:)
Happy Belated Birthday!
British Strawberrys i know its summer when i see them and i like June as well because i know i have one month to go before its my birthday which happens to be 19th July, hope you enjoyed your birthday. x
Well, Belated birthday wishes to you! Sounds like you had a great day!
To me, June is all about the sweet heavenly smell of elderflower, Delicious sun-warmed strawberries, peas swelling in their pods and long evenings of golden sunshine!
Love Kitty xXx
On behalf of Jijikiki on Folksy, who had trouble posting a comment....
Her favourite things about June are Wimbledon & Glastonbury, not that she has tickets to either!
I especially love June this year because it's my birthday next week and S-C-ReaMMM yippee - I'm getting a lovely new sewing machine! Shame about getting another year older but never mind eh!
My most favourite thing in the garden right now though are the 4 blackbirds that come singing for sultanas. One of the lady blackbirds has actually hopped in the back door into the house twice - and I have a cat! Plus I have the most gorgeous pink peony in bloom at the mo with giant pompom flowers that smell fab!
Happy belated birthday.
My favorite thing about June is spending time with my mum at Gardeners world live at the NEC. Its the only time in the year that we know we will be together come what may.
June = Strawberry and raspberry picking and the start of the summer for me.
Happy belated birthday. I think you got some fab pressies. I love Seaurchin stuff too.
Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a lovely day :) I love the long sunny evenings in June, sitting in the garden with a glass of wine after putting the kiddies to bed.
I love the sunshine in June and my children playing in the garden. Strawberries are nice too!
P.s. I will be publishing my latest blog entry and the results of my giveaway tomorrow. There's still tonight to enter if you haven't already! I have mentioned your giveaway!

Summer it's not my favorite season; but June brings me the strawberries along with fresh vegetables I love...and hubby's birthday on the second day of June!
ooh I love a giveaway! I love my garden in June and all the flowers coming out. I also love seeing my children running round the garden in their swimsuits jumping in the paddling pool. Wimbledon and strawberries are also good too!
I love June because my baby is due!
The best thing is that the mosquitos haven't started breeding yet!
Happy Belated Birthday!
I love June because all our winter clothes & shoes are slowly being shoved to the back of the wardrobe to be replaced by all the summery bargains we got our hands on end of last summer! And we finally get a chance to wear them!
I've poped your givaway on my blog :)
I love looking forward to doing fun craft projects withthe kids and not having a school schedule:)
Nice buttons!
Happy birthday! Your tea cup set is gorgeous!
I love June because I'm a school librarian, and June means the start of my summer break! Sleeping in, not having to follow a schedule and enjoying life! June makes me very happy. : )
Strawberry fields FOREVER!!!
June makes me think of strawberries and how sweet they are!
June....my bday is this month too (for better or worse)....the ocean is warming up, but mornings are usually still cool & overcast for running....our fruit trees start giving us fruit this month....decreased traffic to/from work (kids out of school? people vacationing? regardless, I notice & like it)...long days, solstice....even if I work late it's still light when I get home.
June means being able to spend whole days in the garden, having picnics, caring for the veggie patch and of course celebrating my little girl's birthday.
Glad you liked the wee feature on my blog, thanks for stopping by:)
June for me means camping, Father's Day, bbq's out by the pool, swimming, longer days and just so much fun.
Wow! Thanks everyone for all your comments so far! I'm enjoying hearing all your different reasons x
I love June because it is always the month that we get holidays from school. Even as I have gotten older it has always remained the month that my siblings have gotten their summer holidays. It never quite feels like summer unless we are all together at home. It is always sunny in June and the honeysuckle come out and you can smell them in the evenings when you go walking. All the fruits and vegetables come into season and the evenings get longer and it is just a lovely time of year!
Now that I'm living in the UK (and not Australia - would have to give a very different answer!) for me June holds all the promise of hopefully a great summer ahead... every morning waking up with sunshine brings its own little joy.
Love the daisy photo! Congrats on your birthday - hope it was a wonderful day!
What I love about June? The warmth! The long evenings, the bright mornings . . and the birdsong.
So so cute...a perfect giveaway for June..STRAWBERRY month...I love June because school is out and I get the whole summer off!
Oh Happy June, berries and more berries.
I live in NM so my berries come from the store, but I wash a box have breakfast. I love you pictures of your little one. Mine are grown. We had a little wading pool. One morning my 4 year old went swimming in her nightgown. I sound neglectful, but her big sister told me before she was all wet. I have a pic of her with the biggest smile.
Hugs to you,
I will link my blog to yours. Although mine is more about coping with depression.
